GEMUN is a Model United Nations organized by GEM ONU in the facilities of Grenoble Ecole de Management.
This fourth edition took place on the 8th and 9th of February 2019. For a whole week-end, students from different corners of France and abroad, have the chance to negotiate on problematics related to international relations. This was also the occasion to show what MUN (Model United Nations) is like for GEM students interested in it.
Last year the event had welcomed more than 50 students in three different committees. This year two committees were held in English and one in French. The Council of Europe (FR) debated on the migrants crisis. The Peace and Security Council (EN) tried and answered the following question : how to jeopardise illegal trafficking in Africa? Lastly, the Security Council (EN) had the opportunity to take a step into the future with the arrival of aliens.
The two days, punctuated by sessions of negotiation in committees, informal sessions and coffee breaks, were the opportunity for students to share in a pleasant and stimulating environment. This year participants also had the chance to attend a conference given by Eddy FOUGIER, a political scientist, consultant and researcher at IRIS, who we were really pleased to welcome for this edition. Being the most prestigious MUN of the French Alps, in a school according such importance to geopolitics, this yearly event is one of the most important ones for this association.

Le GEMUN est la simulation onusienne organisée par GEM ONU au sein de Grenoble Ecole de Management.
Cette quatrième édition a eu lieu les 8 et 9 février 2019. Pendant un week end, des étudiants venus de toute la France et même pour certains de l’étranger ont l’opportunité de négocier sur des problématiques liées aux relations internationales. Cet évènement est aussi l’occasion de faire découvrir les MUNs (Model United Nations) aux Gémiens intéressés par le sujet.
L’année dernière l’événement a vu une cinquantaine d’inscrits dans trois comités. Cette année deux comités étaient en anglais et un français. Le Conseil de l’Europe (FR) a débattu sur la question de la crise des migrants en Europe. Le Conseil de la Paix et de la Sécurité (EN) s’est penché sur la question suivante : comment mettre fin aux traffics illégaux sur le continent africain? Enfin le Conseil de Sécurité (EN) a eu l’opportunité de se projeter dans un futur plus ou moins proche avec l’arrivée des aliens.
Les 2 journées, ponctuées par des séances de négociation en comité, des sessions informelles et des pauses café, ont permis aux étudiants de partager dans un environnement plaisant et stimulant. Cette année les participants ont également eu la chance d’assister à une conférence d’Eddy FOUGIER, politologue, consultant et chercheur à l’IRIS, que nous avons été très heureux d’accueillir. Cette simulation étant la plus prestigieuses des Alpes française dans une école tournée vers la géopolitique, elle est l’un des évènements annuels marquants pour l’association.
