COMPIMUN 2019 (Madrid, SP)

VERSION ANGLAISE :

On November 13, 2019, GEM ONU flew out for the 5th edition of COMPIMUN, the UN simulation at the Complutense University of Madrid. While this was the first time that GEM ONU participated in this event, the members of the association came out more than delighted, with two awards in their pockets. For 3 days, and more than 20 hours of debate, students from around the world came face to face to discuss international issues.

COMPIMUN is an opportunity for students to make their voices heard about today’s global situation and find solutions for current conflicts. Above all, the MUN in Madrid is the perfect opportunity to meet incredible people and share unforgettable moments.

During these 3 days, the 13 students of Grenoble School of Management had the honor of representing each different delegation in different committees:

– UN Women (United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women)

– SOCHUM (United Nations General Assembly Third Committee Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee) – NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization)

– CSTD (United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development)

We would like to thank Grenoble Ecole de Management and our partnership with Société General for the indispensable and valuable support given in the realization of this trip. This year, GEM ONU is pleased to be able to bring back 2 awards to our association and also to Grenoble Ecole de Management.

We congratulate our lucky winners:

– Justine Blanchon (Switzerland Delegation): for the UN Women Committee’s « Best Position Paper ».

– Yasmina Benzakour (Israel Delegation): for the « Honorable Mention » of the UN Women Committee.

COMPIMUN 2019 was an incredible, enriching, and unforgettable experience. It will be remembered by all participants, who were aware that they had the invaluable opportunity to participate in such an event.
